PF Youths sidelined, UPND National Chairperson

BY IREEN MULENGA
United Party for National Development (UPND) National youth Chairperson Gilbert Liswaniso has sympathizes with youths and women in PF for having been sidelined from National Leadership of the just ended PF convention.

Mr Liswaniso said it was throbbing that youths and women were made to pay nomination fees for electoral process of the PF Central Committee without considering them.

He said the youths spent a lot of money printing campaign posters and door to door campaigns but only to discover that they had a list of preferred old men and women as their MCCs.

Mr Liswaniso said, that is a clear case of political party swindling and duping its own youths and women by obtaining money by false pretense

“We could possibly have understood if the youths and women were subjected to a competitive intraparty electoral process and lost. But since there was no ballot cast at the PF selective convention, it should have been much easier to have more youths and women appointed, “he said.

He said they understand the reason why there is high level of unemployment and lack of business opportunities for the youths and women in this country because the ruling party has no place for these groups on their decision making table.

Mr Liswaniso has urged the youths to vote for UPND where there is a high table for them and clear programmes and policies that address their needs.
