Police have apprehended six Patriotic Front cadres who are allegedly to have been involved in electoral malpractices.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the six and a driver were using a Toyota Land Cruiser beige in colour which upon being stopped by police, sped off bashing a police motor vehicle.
Mr Hamoonga said the driver almost run over a police officer, despite several warning shots the driver didn’t stop.
He said Police are investigating the matter.
“We would like to dispel the falsehood being peddled on social media that police have impounded Patriotic Front Motor vehicles. In the same vein we would also like to dispel another falsehood that police have put the Patriotic Front Acting President Mr Given Lubinda under house arrest. As Zambia Police Service no amount of falsehood will sway as from carrying out our legal mandate of maintaining law and order through out the Country,” he said.
