PF adopts Lupela for Anoya Zulu ward by-election in Chililabombwe

By JOHN SAKALA
The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) party has adopted Kangwa Nsofwa Lupele as their candidate in the fourth coming ward by-election in Kasumbalesa slated for February 12, 2019.

In a media statement, Copperbelt Provincial Chairperson Nathan Chanda said the ruling party is optimistic that it will retain the seat which it won in the last elections.

“We have upheld what the Ward, Constituency and District committee of Chililabombwe wanted and for sure the name on the ground is Kangwa Nsofwa Lupele and as the Provincial Committee we want to respect what the grassroots want.

“We will campaign based on our manifesto and our developmental agenda for this country, as a party on the Copperbelt we shall neither condone nor tolerate any form of violence or indiscipline before, during and after elections. Ours will be an issue based campaign and that is what we will be talking about to voters,” he said.

Mr Chanda said the three applicants who were not adopted should remain loyal to the Party and the President.

He urged all aspiring candidates to practice the spirit of unity and rally behind Mr Lupele for there can only be one candidate at a time.

The Anoya Zulu ward seat fell vacant following the death of its civic leader, Fidelis Makasa of PF

Nominations will be on Thursday January 10, 2019.

This is according to a press statement by PF Copperbelt Province Secretary Benard Zulu.
