Police have apprehended and detained Esaya Zimba a male aged 30 of Showgrounds Compound Petauke for Malicious Damage to property.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said this was after Goodson Lungu aged 51 of Mwanjabanthu in Chief Mwanjabanthu village, in Petauke reported on behalf of David Milombe also of the same abode.
Mr Hamoonga said it Lungu reported that a Motor vehicle, Toyota Corolla Registration ABR 2720 had been maliciously damaged by people he was able to identify.
He said that the incident happened on October, 21, 2021 at about 11:00 hours near Nyalingu Primary School, in Mwanjabanthu.
“Brief facts are that on October, 21, 2021 at around 11:00 hours, Goodson Lungu was driving the said Toyota Corolla from Nyalingu Primary School. It was then that they met a Toyota Hiace minibus Registration Number ARB 3422 chasing the Toyota Corolla until the driver and his passenger abandoned the said vehicle,” he said.
Mr Hamoonga said visited the crime scene and found both the rear and front windscreens shattered, broken side view mirrors, broken rear and front lights and windows shattered.
He said that the suspects maliciously damaged the vehicle that they even punctured the tyres.
