PeP into politics to serve

By MAIMBO MWEEMBA
The Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Tembo says he is not into politics for self-interest and gain but to contribute to the wellbeing of the Zambian people.

Mr Tembo said that even those in the opposition can help the government of the day by providing solutions that will help alleviate suffering among the Zambian citizens.

He said that Zambian people’s interests should be considered first by every politician, irrespective of their various political affiliations.

Mr Tembo lamented that the PEP were not interested in the by-elections because they had put their effort in mobilizing for the general elections, further stating that the party’s mobilization is currently going on well.

He revealed that the party is doing well on parliamentary level.

“We have plans to approach some councilor applicants to stand as Members of Parliament in the fourth-coming elections.

“My party at the moment only has about 21 aspiring Members of Parliaments out of the 156 Members of Parliament to contest the August polls,” he said.
