People need leaders who can restore confidence

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
National Democratic Congress  (NDC) Nchanga Constituency aspiring candidate Arthur Msukwa says the country needs leaders who can win back confidence of the people.

Mr Msukwa said there is need to bring integrity and respect to everyone regardless of status in society.

He said restoration can happen if leaders who have an understanding of the communities are elected.

Mr Msukwa said the cost of living is high due to government irresponsible borrowing and accelerating exchange rate.

He said the informal sector such as illegal mining handles millions of dollars each year which if formalized the government can get the much needed tax revenue for infrastructure development, health and education services.

Mr Msukwa said Chingola has been neglected in terms of development as the constituency that houses one of the biggest mines.

He said to curb youth unemployment the government needs to come up with a deliberate policy to invest in science and technology.

Mr Msukwa said government should develop a curriculum with emphasis on design and technology which stimulates innovation and creativity in pupils in line with the needs of our society and industry.

He said Government has to protect indigenous Zambian businesses from the foreigners in farming, mining and all other forms of business.

“We need to repair our economy otherwise people are losing hope in the system of government hence the need for leaders who looks at the plight of the people. People need representatives who will represent them comprehensively,” he said.
