Rainbow Party has challenged President Edgar Lungu and his Ministers to sacrifice their salaries for council workers and all civil servants who have gone months without salaries.
Rainbow Party Deputy National Spokesperson Humphrey Kabwe said it is inhuman as leaders to keep on enjoying heft salaries when their people can’t get already the merger salaries for months and the conscious is free.
Mr Kabwe said this is terrible and PF government don’t deserve another term.
“As a Party, we are convinced beyond reasonable doubt that PF government has no capacity to improve the welfare of the workers in the country. The PF slogan; more money in people’s pockets, more jobs and lower taxes is far-fetched and it’s time people realised that people were lied to,” he said.
He said workers will not survive on explanations from government officials, who are getting their salaries without any challenge.
Mr Kabwe said his party his challenging Edgar Lungu’s government to show seriousness about this issue by sacrificing their heft salaries for already suffering civil servants.
‘As a Party, we really sympathize with the workers across the country for the predicament they are in and urge them to look to the Rainbow Party for redemption as we believe that workers must be respected as important stakeholders in building up the economy. Rainbow party believe that when workers are paid on time. .productive will improve thus the economy will thrive,” he said.
