|Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane says Parliament has approved the supplementary budget of about K22 billion.
Dr Musotwane said the money that will be used in the supplementary budget iscoming from the savings Government has made through not paying external debt.
Dr Musokotwane said the Government is also expected to receive money that will go into the supplementary budget from its cooperating partners while another substantial amount is coming from the carry over funds from the 2021 financial year and additional revenue in the form of dividends.
He said through President Hakainde Hichilema’s trips , it has made been possible for the country to avoid paying external debt service which is now going towards the supplementary budget .
‘’The ministry will also priotise funding to the public private partnership unit as they are expected to benefit the country in the road sector, one of the projects that is yet to be concluded is where the Public Private sector will pump in monies for the construction of the Lusaka-Ndola road,” he said
Dr Musokotwane said this when he moved the motion in the National Assembly yesterday.
