Owl gasses 4 nurses at Chingola’s Chawama clinic

Four nurses working night shift at Chingola’s Chawama clinic have been gassed by owl with the infamous unknown chemical.

Around 03:30 hrs today January 29, 2020, the nurses were attending to patients that had been gassed from the community who were rushed to the health centre.

Sadly, they head noise like people were crying and had brought in a dead body but there was nothing.

Then the members of the community told them it was the infamous mysterious cats that have invaded Chingola.

The quartet, thought it was a joke and they ignored it but took precautions of closing the gates.

Suddenly, an owl flew past where they were about two times and immediately the room was gassed and two nurses fainted.

Chingola District Health Director Davis Mwewa confirmed the gassing incident to The Independent Observer and referred all queries to police.

And Deputy Inspector General of Police Bonny Kapeso also confirmed the development to The Independent Observer saying the incidence was a sad development.

But Mr Kapeso has assured the residents that with arrest of six suspects behind gassing, inroads would be made to end the spate.

Rumbi Ndhlovu one of the gassed nurses explained the ordeal to The Independent Observer this afternoon. (Sound may be poor).

The other three nurses that were Winfridah Mpatisha, Judith Mutachila and Mkosha Mwape.

And Sister-In-Charge at Chawama Gladys Mparo expressed concern that the suspects are now targeting health facilities where patients are taken to.

Ms Mparo said the safety of health personnel working at night is not guaranteed.
