Over 500 pupils in Twatasha Ward awarded text books by Area Council

Twatasha ward Councillor Jeff Musonda in his quest to support young people has donated assorted school items to the best performing pupils in Grade eight and Ten in his ward at a total cost of K43, 000.

Mr Musonda has bought books for a total of 560 pupils including those who are starting grade one.

He said that the pupils should take advantage of the opportunity to have an education for free with materials provided.

Mr Musonda said that he has continued to empower children with education because he understands the importance of school to every child.

“Growing up I never had the privilege to have access to free education, books or anything, I had to do peace works to pay my tuition fee, so I feel compelled to help the children who want to complete school. I have sponsored many children to schools and colleges whom I believe will become better citizen and help others as well,” he said.

He has urged pupils to take their education serious and complete with good marks to take them to tertiary education.

Mr Musonda said that the children should also be disciplined not to join groups with bad influence who may cause them not to complete school.

He said whatever has been done is for the good of the children and the nation once they complete school.

Mr Musonda said that once complete Government is also offering skills bursaries meaning the children’s future is secure.

He has also urged parents to encourage their children to take this opportunity serious and utilized it.

The parents were happy and thanked the ward Councillor to continue with the good works of helping the needy in his community.

“We are the happiest as parents because we will benefit more when these children get an education, their future and ours are now secure, because we have a responsible and hardworking leader in Mr Musonda,”
