Over 50 houses collapse in Chingola’s Kalilo

Over 50 houses of Kalilo area in Chingola have collapsed due to the heavy rains t experienced, leaving people homeless.

Chingola District Commissioner Agnes Tonga who visited the victims to ascertain the extent of the damage is saddened with the situation.

Ms Tonga found that most houses have completely fallen off, while others are on a verge of collapsing due to the deep cuts developed.

She said Government will definitely come to their aid in any way possible to lessen their burden.

Kalilo area Councillor Geoffrey Singu has called on Government to quickly come on board and help the victims with any assistance.

Mr Singu said the victims who are homeless are spending nights in their neighbors houses for security purposes adding that it is disturbing.

And the residents have also appealed to government to help them in any way adding that the situation is so devastating as they are now partially homeless/ZANIS.
