Open Mitukutuku Police post

By CLOZZEN BIKALE
Group Leader Richard Mwaala of chief Kapijimpanga’s Chiefdom of Solwezi District in Mitukutuku has called on Government to open Mitukutuku police post to the public.

Mr Mwala said Mitukutuku police post has become a white elephant after government spent money on the project.

He said that the initiative of putting up a police post in that area was a welcome move and it was meant to save the public and ensure that the law and order is preserved in society.

Mr Mwaala has called on Government to expedite the process of opening and handing over the facility to the public.

And two concerned residents of Kipemba area David Sobongo and Geoffrey kikumbi said the police post is not saving any purpose to the community for it has remained a white elephant from the time it was constructed.

Mr Sobongo said the facility has everything including electricity and water only awaiting handover to the public.

The residents have called on Government to respond to the cries of the public.

Meanwhile Kibanza ward Councillor Moses Kokela has taken up the stance to follow up the matter as to why the police post is not operational.

Mr Kokela has wondered why a beautiful structure with everything in it could not be utilized and offer security services to the communities around the area.

“We want the police post to start operating because there are a lot of criminal activities going on in the nearby areas,” he said.
