Various Stakeholders have agreed with the Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- to start implementing the online voter registration exercise next year.
ECZ Public Relations Manager Margaret Chimanse says the implementation of the exercise will start after the 2019 delimitation exercise.
Ms Chimanse says the decision to implement the online voter registration exercise was reached after a stakeholder meeting that included several political parties.
She says the commission targets the growing number of mobile phone and internet users which represents 48 of youths in Zambia.
Speaking to Journalists yesterday, Ms Chimanse said potential voters will be required to create a unique account on the ECZ voter registration as one of the measures.
She said after submission of the requirement, the details will then be verified at the Commission Headquarters in Lusaka.
