One person has died while five others sustained injuries in an accident which happened in Mazabuka.
Zambia Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the accident happened when Tabo Mwananyambe 21, lost control of
Toyota Prado Landcruiser registration number BAP 9705 he was driving.
Ms Katongo said Mwananyambe of
Lusaka’s Libala Township was from Mazabuka heading to Livingstone direction.
She said Mwananyambe lost control to due to excessive speed and he careered off the road to the left and overturned.
“The accident happened today September 15, 2020 at about 12: 00 hours in Sikalozya farm area of about 20 Kilometers north of Mazabuka Town.
“After the accident one unknown male adult passenger sustained fatal head injuries and died upon reaching the Mazabuka Hospital while five other passengers among them a two year-old female juvenile sustained slight injuries and all were taken to Mazabuka General Hospital whilst the body of the deceased is in the same hospital mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem,” she said.
