One inmate who was admitted to Ndola Teaching hospital (NTH) has died bringing the death of those who were involved in the accident to two.
NTH Public Relations Officer Sheona Kamwendo confirmed that the hospital received 21 inmates on Saturday evening but that one died last night around 01:00 hrs.
Ms Kamwendo said three of the 20 still admitted are in critical condition while 17 are stable.
The accident happened on Saturday at Chibuli area in Mpongwe where 39 inmates were traveling to Luanshya from Mpongwe in a Mitsubishi Spotero Registration PS 2090 which over turned after a tyre burst, and one inmate died on the spot
The driver failed to control the vehicle after the tyre burst for about 100 metres thereby causing the vehicle to overturn three times.
