One dead, two burnt from lightening

By ALICE NACHILEMBE A 20-year-old woman has died while two others have been burnt after their where struck by lightening in Ikeleng’i district in North western Province.

North western Province Police Commissioner Elias Chushi has confirmed that the cousins to the victim are battling for their lives in Kaleni Mission Hospital after surviving from the lightening.

Mr Chushi said the trio were in the house when they were struck by lightening during a heavy downpour. 

He said the incident occurred yesterday Sunday October 11, around 1600 hours and identified the deceased as Matilda Mulandu and her two cousins as Esther Sakayombo 14 and Tinnah Matiya 3.

“Unfortunately, the deceased died on the spot whilst her two cousins sustained severe burns and have been admitted to Kaleni Mission Hospital,” he said. 

Mr Chushi said that the two that are admitted in hospital  are in a stable condition.
