Zesco United coach Mumamba Numba has cautioned his players against complacency after opening a seven point lead at the top of the FAZ Super Division table.
Zesco, the former champions, moved to 43 points after playing 21 matches following a 2-1 win over title rivals Zanaco at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Sunday.
In a post-match interview, Numba said there were many tough games coming for Zesco.
“We just have to continue talking to the team so that we don’t get relaxed and start dropping points,” Numba said.
Zesco are enjoying spectacular form which has seen them record six consecutive wins in the league.
“This is a time we need to even double our work because the league is very tight.”
Numba also hailed his team for beating his former club Zanaco.
“We really needed this win so that we can open up a seven point lead. I think this is an important win on our part,” he said.
