By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) Managing Director Kanyembo Ndhlovu says the utility firm doesn’t believe in masking up the truth.

Mr Ndhlovu said Mulonga believes in the truth being told as it is but must be accompanied by the company views.

He said that the firm is ready to work with the media as long media houses present facts in a balanced way.

The MD said that MWSC appreciates the feedback coming from the community, hence the need for the media to bring out such concerns.

Mr Ndhlovu said the firm is facing challenges lately with supply because its infrastructure is being accidently punctured by firms executing road rehabilitation.

“We are trying our best even in difficult circumstance and we believe with the help of the media we can achieve something. The media is an important stakeholder for disseminating information to the masses because we deal with the vital commodity.

“Sometimes we will not be available for one reason or the other but that doesn’t mean that we are hiding from the media, because hiding doesn’t do us any favors,” he said.

He said this today when he accompany MWSC Public Relations Officer Bright Mtonga paid a courtesy call at The Independent Observer Office in Chingola.

And The Independent Observe Editor John Sakala expressed gratitude for the gesture saying provision of water is a challenging business.

Mr Sakala said that it was a rare for MDs to walk in a media house for familiarization of the operations and how best they can improve the working relationship.

He said this would enhance the working relation with the utility firm which has embarked on massive water and sewer infrastructure rehabilitation to enhance reticulation.
