No General worker at Chilillabombwe Council will lose employment-TC

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Chililabombwe Town Clerk George Mulenga has assured general workers that management at the Council is not terminating any employees’ contract.

Mr Mulenga was addressing General workers who concern through union on whether or not that the contracts for the 227 general workers currently employed under the local authority will be terminated, in line with the recent revised circular from the Local Government Commissioner.

This was in an emergency meeting held with the general workers who were represented by   Chililabombwe Municipal Council Workers Union Chairperson Kapasa Victor with Chililabombwe Mayor Lucky Sichone , and the Human Resource Department.

He also said that the council has agreed to consider all the general workers to sign a one year contract starting Friday December 30, 2022.

The TC said that general workers are front runners in the provision of services in the community and would make it nearly impossible for the council to operate without them.

And the Mayor appreciated the step management has taken in order to clear up all the rumors.

And the ZULAWU Chair commended management on the move taken in order to keep every worker in employment.

This is contained in a statement issued by CMC Public Relations Officer Annedy  Kangwa.
