NMCZ Takes Action Against Nurses Involved in Facebook Skit

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) has identified five individuals who participated in the controversial “We listen, we do not Judge, nurse’s edition” Facebook skit, four of whom are registered nurses and one a finalist student awaiting results.

The Council has commenced disciplinary proceedings against the nurses, who confessed to negligence, and will ensure that the matters are resolved amicably.

The NMCZ has issued a stern warning to nurses and midwives, reminding them to uphold professional standards and adhere to the Code of Ethics.

The Council emphasized that nurses and midwives are obligated by law to exhibit professionalism in their conduct and service delivery.

The public is advised to report any incidents of negligence by nurses and midwives to the NMCZ.

The Council’s Public Relations Officer, Mailesi Banda, confirmed that disciplinary action will be taken against those found wanting.
