Nkhuwa buys marquee tent for Helen’s community

Chingola Member of Parliament Matthew Nkhuwa has purchased a marquee tent for conferences and also bereavements in Helens community.

Speaking during the handover, Mr Nkhuwa said that the tent is vital for meetings and also in times of bereavement.

He said with a tent, every planned meeting can go ahead regardless of the weather on that particular day and hour.

Mr Nkhuwa who is also Energy Minister told the community that the tent wasn’t for PF members but for the whole community.

“We shouldn’t segregate as to who should use the tents. I’m a Member of Parliament for everyone and I don’t want to hear reports that some members were not allowed to use the tent because of the party or their association,” he said.

‘Helen’ is the community located along Chingola-Chililabombwe road.

Before he left, he gave out bathing and washing soap to all that had turned up for the meeting.

And Kabungo Ward Councillor Richard Mutale thanked Mr Nkhuwa for the gesture.

Mr Mutale said tent would give the community dignified meeting place.

He said for funerals too, the tent will shelter bereaved households.

He also lobbied for a school saying the community had grown yet it depended on 1×2 community school which only goes up to Grade 4.

“If we can have used oil, we can mold bricks so that we build another classroom,” he said.
