Nkana silenced in Egyptian Pyramids

By Mercy Chewe
Nkana on Wednesday evening kicked off CAF Confederation Cup Group D action with a huge 3-0 loss to Egyptian side Pyramids in Cairo.

The FAZ Super Division side conceded two early goals in the first 10 minutes of the match.

Ambitious side Pyramids went up just after two minutes through Mahmoud Wadi before Islam Issa made it 2-0 seven minutes later.

Nkana attempted to come-back into the game with second half efforts that were not good enough on the night.

Mohamed Farooq put the score line beyond Nkana’s reach deep in the second half stoppage time with a third and final goal.

Pyramids jointly topped Group D on three points together with Moroccan side Raja Casablanca edged Tanzania’s Namungo 1-0 in the earlier group match played in North Africa.
