Nkana Queens Football Team is appealing to FAZ to consider reducing the ban slapped on six players led by Captain Grace Kapansa over violent conduct.
Kapansa, Susan Mwewa, Gorrete Chileshe, Tamara Mhango, Taonga Phiri, Nelly Muwowo have been banned for one full season and the remainder of the current campaign.
The six players beat up referees and a ball boy during a league match against ZICD played last May in Lusaka.
Team Manager Christopher Mwewa said the club and its players have learnt lessons.
“We have learnt a lot of lessons from the suspension after those incidents. The girls should not stay longer in the compounds,” Mwewa said.
“We plead with FAZ to reduce the bans for the girls. We have repented as a team. If those stay for two years in the compound they may engage themselves in unsafe activities,’” he said.
Nkana Queens on Sunday have returned to action after a provisional suspension over violent conduct.
The team lost 7-2 to Indeni away in Ndola in their first match after the provisional suspension was lifted by FAZ.
