The Non-Governmental Organizations monitoring the printing of ballot papers has called on fellow civil society actors, political parties, and other key stakeholders to sensitize the electorates on the process of ballot printing.
They have also called for actively monitor of the packaging sets as they arrive in the country and also in the various polling stations where they shall be distributed by the Electoral Commission of Zambia.
Civil Society Representative Engwase Mwale said that progress had been made in printing the ballots as briefed by the company executing the work.
She said so far the Presidential ballots are at 47 percent, Parliamentary ballots at 62 percent, Mayor/Chairperson at 92 percent and Councillors ballots at 29 percent.
Ms Mwale says the team was presented with a sample of the packaging of the ballot papers plus other election materials.
She said the number of ballot papers will be packaged according to the total number of registered voters at each polling station with an additional +/-5% extras as contingency.
