NFCA miners in 15% pay rise

By JOHN SAKALA
Unionized workers at NFCA in Chambishi have been awarded a 15 per cent pay rise.

This means, the lowest employee will now be getting home K4, 100.

The good news is that the threshold for taxable amount has been moved to K4, 000.

Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) President Joseph Chewe has thanked NFCA for a double digit increment.

Speaking at the signing ceremony which was held yesterday both presidents from MUZ and National Union of Miners and Allied Workers thanked both parties and gave credit to the Government for the support it has continued to render to the mining firms.

And MUZ NFCA Branch Vice-secretary Harrison Chunga thanked the two unions and management of NFCA for arriving at a double digit salary increase.
