Ndola husband defiles sister in-law

A Ndola man only as identified Mukomba is on the run after allegedly defiling his 13-year-old sister-in-law whom he dragged into a bush and had canal knowledge of her.

 Mukomba is said to have gone home in a drunken state barged into the bedroom of the victim and dragged her outside.

And, Copperbelt Province Commanding officer Sharon Zulu said the incident occurred on Monday at 04:00 hours in Itawa area of Ndola.

“The wife to the suspect reported that her young sister was defiled by her husband. The brief facts surrounding the matter are that, on the material day, the suspect came back home in a drunken state and upon entering the house, he went straight to where the victim sleeps grabbed her and took her outside. The victim shouted for help and her elder sister (wife to suspect) rushed to help her,” she said.

Ms Zulu said on seeing his wife, the suspect let the victim loose and she ran away into the bush.

She said that while the suspect’s wife went back in the house to attend to the baby that was crying, the suspect followed the victim, caught up with her and dragged her into the nearby bush where he had carnal knowledge of her.

“The victim shouted for help, but nobody was nearby to render help. In the process, her sister looked for them, but failed to find them. Eventually, she went back home and found the victim and suspect home while the victim was crying and later disclosed to her what happened,” she said.

Ms Zulu said in the midst of confusion the suspect disappeared from home and is believed to be on the run.

She said that investigations have been launched as the police want to bring the culprit to book in the charge of defilement.
