Ndola 7s Rugby Tourney put off

The once popular event on the Zambia Rugby Union calendar Ndola 7s Rugby Tournament has been postponement with immediate effect.

The 2021 Ndola 7s Rugby Tournament was initially scheduled for 6th November.

Club Secretary General Frank Chansa said financial limitations have forced Ndola Wanderers to put off the event.

“Ndola Wanderers Rugby Club wishes inform our rugby fraternity that the Ndola 7s Rugby tournament which was scheduled to take place on the 6th November 2021 has been postponed,” Chansa wrote in a letter sent to ZRU.

“This is due to our weather friendly sponsors who are facing financial challenges due to the Covid 19 pandemic and the Club is currently working on the maintenance of the pitch which will not be ready in time,” Chansa added.

Local rugby teams are currently facing off in cup competitions after winding up the league season won by Red Arrows.

Mufulira and Arrows have already hosted their respective cup competitions.
