NDC welcomes Mawere dismissal

By Nchimunya Miyoba
National Democratic Party (NDC) has welcomed the firing of Youth, Sport and Child Development Minister Moses Mawere as the country has not seen any improvement of youth sport activities.

NDC Deputy Spokesperson Saboi Imboela said the party is of the view that Mr Mawere failed lamentably to run the Ministry particularly in the area of youth empowerment.

Ms Imboela said most youth activities where neglected during the tenure of Mawere as such him been dropped by the president is timely.

“As NDC we are of the view that the country did not seen any improvement of youth activities during Mr Mawere ‘s leadership.Sport activities had been neglected under his leadership. We are happy that he has been fired,” she said.

Ms Imboela however said the reshuffles do not mean anything as most people holding the positions do not qualify and have failed to perform in other ministries.

Ms Imboela said that there was need to drop some ministers especially those that are not performing to replace them with performing ones.

And Democratic Party Spokesperson Judith Kabemba said yesterday’s reshuffles by the republican president will not change the status call of the country as the President has maintained the same ministers by just moving them around adding that the move will not change the economy of the country.

Ms Kabemba noted that corruption activities will now move to other ministries adding that yesterday’s reshuffles are just cosmopolitan as nothing will change.

She said what the country needs is a complete overhaul of leadership adding that this will be made possible in 2021 when the Democratic party form government.

Ms Kabemba further advised President Lungu to take advantage of the trip on the copperbelt to open the Copperbelt University and also address the non payment of contractors and suppliers that have gone months without pay among other things issues.

Ms Kabemba said the President Lungu has betrayed the people of Zambia who voted for him in office and has since advised him to relook at the way he is governing Country if he and party should gain the confidence of the people.

She sais that the President should use the Copperbelt trip to announce economic strategies and avoid making jokes as this what the people of Zambia are yearning to hear.
