National Democratic congress (NDC) interim president Saboi Imboela has disclosed that the party has endorsed President Edgar Lungu as they have no candidate contesting for presidency.
Ms Imboela encouraged members of the party to vote for NDC candidates fielded in at constituency and ward level.
“I wish urge party members on the Copperbelt to campaign for all our candidates and ensure that they win various positions that they are contesting for,” she.
Ms Imboela said as rallies were banned by President Lungu, the party has embarked on door to door campaigns.
“As per presidential directive, the NDC has started mobilization through the media and small gatherings, so that we inform Zambians of our manifesto,” she said.
Ms Imboela encouraged Zambians to vote for the right leaders in August polls, and also urged the electorates to turn out in large numbers.
And NDC vice president, Ackson Kaonga expressed gratitude to the members of the party on the Copperbelt for their commitment and unity.
“The NDC members on the Copperbelt have continued to show support throughout the challenges that we faced, but we wish to warn people keen on destroying the unity in the party to stop spreading falsehoods, I want to advice that the party will not hesitate to involve the law if such people continue with their malicious acts,” he said.
