Police in Nchelenge have arrested Mikaliyo Bwalya 50, for sodomising a 7-yeear-old girl.
Bwalya is alleged to have had canal knowledge of a 7-year-old girl against the order of nature.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said September 17, 2019 around 23:00 hours at Chilongoshi Village, Chief Kambwali in Nchelenge District, the mother of the victim went to spend a night at a funeral within the samevillage and left her daughter in the custody of her neighbour, because her husband had gone out on a drinking spree.
“Unfortunately, her neighbour also proceeded to spend a night at the same funeral and the child was left in the custody of the neighbour’s husband Makaliyo Bwalya.
“Bwalya sodomized the victim and was caught in the act by the girl’s father who upon his return from the drinking spree heard her crying from his neighbour’s house. The suspect is in Police custody and will appear in court soon,” she said.
