Nchanga Rangers winger Kunda Nkandu has lamented Sunday’s 1-1 home draw recorded against Livingstone Pirates at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola.
Nchanga conceded a heart-breaking stoppage time goal after leading for most part of the game as captain Gift Phiri gifted Pirates with an own goal in the 90th minute to cancel Nkandu’s 18th minute goal.
In a post-match interview, Nkandu said lack of concentration deprived Brave victory against Pirates.
“This is a bad result for us. We were supposed to win this match because we created many chances,” he said.
The draw brought down the curtain on Nchanga’s two match winning run that saw the team thump Zesco Shockers 7-0 and Gomes 2-0 last week.
“Look at the time we allowed a goal, the game was over and the referee had ended three minutes of added time. We were supposed to concentrate in the end and to contain pressure,” Nkandu said.
He said Nchanga must now put the draw behind to focus on their next match against Police College set for Lusaka.
The 1998 FAZ Super Division champions are fifth on the Division One table with 16 points from 10 matches played.
