Nchanga south water interruption is due to vandalism-Mulonga

Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company limited have informed customers in Nchanga South of Chingola that the current water supply interruption is due to a vandalized main water supply line in the area.

Company’s communications manager Bright Mtonga said unknown people have burnt down a High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe along 5th Street thereby disrupting water supply to some areas in Nchanga South.

“Our engineers are working to replace the burned 12 inch HDPE or plastic pipe line and restore water supply as soon as possible, an members of the public are reminded of the need to manage their solid waste responsibly and avoid dumping and burning waste in sanitary lanes,” he said.

Mr Mtonga said sanitary lanes are reserved for utility services and should not be used as dumpsite for solid waste.

“Customers are urged to report anyone dumping or burning solid waste in sanitary lane to call center numbers,” he said.

“The affected areas are; Swazi Park, Maple Road, Zambia Railways Compound, Protea Avenue, and Nchanga South from 5th to 10th Street, the water utility company deeply regrets the inconvenience,” he said
