Nchanga MP launches soccer tourney

Nchanga Member of Parliament Chali Chilombo has launched a football tournament for youths in all the 10 wards in his constituency.

Chilombo said the all idea for organizing the tournament was to bring the youths together for interaction.

He also said engaging in sports activities will keep the youths away from bad vices as they will be kept busy.

Chilombo was speaking when he launched the youth football tournament at Watson stadium yesterday in Chingola.

He donated brand new jerseys and balls to all the 10 teams.

He said sports will also keep the youths fit as they will keep health engaging in sports activities.

Chilombo urged the youths to participate in the tournament as it is for their own good.

He said the tournament will be made into a league and champions will be give K3, 000.00 K2, 000 and those who will come third place will get K1, 000.

The lawmaker said no one will loss as all participants will get something as long as they participate.

He said that the league will also be extended to other districts so that youths share ideas with others and socialize.

And Nchanga Constituency Youth Chairperson Nelius Mumba advised the youths to utilize the program to refrain from bad vices in the community by keeping health and fit.

And Sekela Ward Youth Secretary Brian Kaimba expressed gratitude to Chilombo for gesture.

And George Mwansa one of the beneficiary said the MP had done a good job as most of the youth have nothing to do and football will keep them busy.

Patience Fube another beneficiary of the program said that sports activities are important for the youths as some will even realize their talent and go further in their life.
