Nchanga held by Pirates… as Kansanshi go top

By Mulenga Chapoloko
Nchanga Rangers maintained their inconsistency run in the FAZ National Division One after forcing a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Livingstone Pirates on Sunday afternoon at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola.

Brave conceded a heart-breaking stoppage time goal after leading for most part of the game.

Captain and defender Gift Phiri gifted Pirates with an own goal in the 90th minute to cancel Kunda Nkandu’s 18th minute goal.

The draw brought down the curtain on Nchanga’s two match winning run that saw the team thump Zesco Shockers 7-0 and Gomes 2-0 last week.

The 1998 FAZ Super Division are fifth on the Division One table with 16 points from 10 matches.

Meanwhile, Kansanshi Dynamos stayed top of table after beating Konkola Blades 1-0 away at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe on Saturday.

Kansanshi opened a one point lead at the top with 20 points after Chambishi, City of Lusaka and Chambishi all failed to win in Sunday’s action.

Celtic, City and Chambishi are tied on 19 points each after this weekend’s Week 10 matches.
