National Savings and Credit Bank Chief Executive Officer Mukwandi Chibesakunda has won a top African award.

The African Leadership Awards hosted by the African Leadership Magazine UK was held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Ms Chibesakunda was awarded with the Business Excellence Leadership Award

She was recognized for her effort to turn around Natsave which has had numerous challenges arising from legacy issues of the Bank.

However, Ms Chibesakunda had introduced corporate governance guidelines, product initiatives and transformational measures throughout the organisation which formed the basis of the award.

And Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Mr Emmanuel Mwamba congratulated Ms Chibesakunda for her prestigious award.

Mr Mwamba said she was leading one of the historical and foremost institution in the country which was the face of banking and financial service to ordinary Zambian.

He said Natsave Management required support from government and Zambians so that the Bank can grow its financial service especially to the rural areas that were lacking such services.
