National Airport optimistic

The National Airports Corporation is optimistic that Zambia will see significant reduction in airport charges once the land use plan is fully implemented.

Acting Managing Director Maggie Kaunda said the land use plan will see the commercialization of the corporation’s 2000 hectares of land to stimulate its revenue.

Ms Kaunda said that this will subsequently lead to a reduction in landing, traveling, parking and handling fees of aircrafts, which she said are the National Airports’ major sources of revenue.

She noted that some of the projects under the five-year strategic plans have already started being implemented with some airports witnessing the construction of hotels.

Ms Kaunda anticipates that the strategic period 2022 to 2026 will see increased activities in both international and domestic travels among airports. Zanis
