Nathan Chanda banishes PF camps calls for unity

By JOHN SAKALA
Newly elected Patriotic Front (PF) Copperbelt Provincial Chairperson Nathan Chanda has called for unity and reconciliation in the party following last weekend’s Provincial Elective Conference that ushered him and the new executive into office.

Mr Chanda who is now PF Central Committee ex-officio was speaking at the first Provincial Executive Committee meeting in Kitwe attended by all 24 newly elected members.

He has requested people who belonged to different camps during campaigns to forget about the camps and realise that all belong to one party, the PF, under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu.

Among the amendments he cited was security.

He said the PF Party Security in the province will be restructured following strict scrutiny and guidelines to ensure that only disciplined party members recommended by the districts are incorporated.

Mr Chanda said the economic empowerment of the party grassroots is top of the agenda especially the rural constituencies like Mpongwe, Lufwanyama and Masaiti which are faced with by logistical challenges.

“Our team will work hand in hand with all key stakeholders in the province such as party officials, Members of Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, Mayors, Councillors, the Church and other public and private stakeholders.

“Our Job is to support all our elected leaders so that they deliver to the expectations of the people who elected them into office. We don’t have time to start fighting amongst ourselves through pull-him/her-down or “PHD” syndrome. We need to see discipline, respect and order, and come 2021 to record 100% victory in seats for Members of Parliament, Mayors / Council Chairpersons and Councillors in the province, and this calls for hard work and team work,” he said.

This is according to a media statement made available by PF Copperbelt Provincial Secretary Bernard Zulu.
