NAPSA Stars still in the race-Coach

CHINOYI CHIPULU
Napsa Stars Coach Mohamed Fathi says his team is still in the race to finish among the top four teams this season.
The Pensioners on Sunday arrested their bad patch after beating 1-0 Nkwazi at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
A win pushed Napsa to number 13 on the log with 18 points.
Fathi said in an interview that with 18 points his team is still in the race to finish in the top four.
“This win has come on time and it will motivate the players. Tactically we look organized, and this is a preparation for our game in Kenya. I am happy with the performance, we will maintain the clean sheet for the next game and this is a good sign for us,” he said.
Napsa will face Gor Mahia of Kenya on Saturday in a CAF Confederation Cup pre-group stage first leg encounter in Nairobi.
He said that the team will now focus on getting maximum points in upcoming matches.
“This season is still wide open, this is week 16 and we still have 18 games to go. Things can change anytime. The difference between us and and the team on top of the table is ten points. Our target is to push and keep winning, “he said.
And Fathi says his side still has challenges upfront but is confident the return to fitness of experienced Emmanuel Mayuka will make a big difference.
“It was not easy but we worked very hard. The upfront still have some challenges, Emmanuel Mayuka is still injured and Enock Sabumukama is injured but recovering,” he said.
He said Jimmy Mukeya and Doisy Soko are good players but lack experience.
Fathi said his team needs experience players especially in attack to help them achieve their objectives.
