Napsa Stars assistance coach says the team will bounce back

CHINOYI CHIPULU

Napsa Stars assistant coach Geoffrey Hamakwende says his team will bounce back to winning ways after extending their winless run to three matches.

On Wednesday the Pensioners drew 2-all against Forest Rangers at Woodlands Staduim.
Prior to the draw against Forest, Naspa had lost 1-0 to Lumwana Radiants in Solwezi before drawing with Red Arrows at Nkoloma Stadium.
Hamakwende who is drilling the team in the absence of ahead coach Mohammed Fathi who tested positive for Covid19 said the team played well against Forest but lacked concentration in the last minutes.

“We really wanted the three points but there is nothing we can do, we cannot change the results. A point is better. We lost concentration in the dying minutes of the game. I cannot blame the players, the performance was ok ,” he said.
And Forest Rangers assistant coach Owen Kaposa described the 2-2 draw against Naspa as fair and is happy the team managed a point away from home.
“In this league we just want to do better than last season, for the first round we want to play ABSA cup. This is why a point away from home is good for us, “he said.
He said that Naspa is a good team hence his team fought hard to gain a point.
“The game was a 50-50 affair, the guys really fought hard. Playing a team that is doing fine in Confederation Cup is good for us. We will just work on finishing because even the previous game against Prison Leopards we created a lot of chances but we just failed to convert, that is where the problem is, and we are looking forward to working on that,” he said.
Forest were also without the services of head coach Tenant Chilumba, who had a bereavement.
