Namibia hold Shepolopolo

The Zambia Women’s Team has been held to a frustrating goalless draw at home by Namibia in the first leg match of the final qualifying round for the 2022 African Women’s Championship.

Shepolopolo missed a chance to take control of the final qualifying round at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Wednesday.

Zambia missed scoring chances in both halves.

Attacker Siomala Mapepa missed a chance to give Zambia an early lead when sending her shot wide in the seventh minute.

Grace Chanda also missed two free kicks with the first one coming in the 25th minute and another which was blocked three minutes later.

Zambia and Namibia will clash in the return leg in four days’ time in Windhoek.

The Women Africa Cup doubles as the African qualifiers to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand.
