Chingola Constituency Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga has encouraged the affected residents in Kasompe Airstrip area to name and shame the illegal land allocators.
Speaking when visited the affected residents, Mr Chipoka also told the residents to present the documentation they were given by the allocators.
Mr Chipoka said he will do what he can to help the residents as most of them are spending nights in the cold.
“You elected me to be your MP and I will do everything in my power to help resolve this issue, it is saddening to see a lot of houses demolished, which has left many families in the cold, it is painful to lose property in such a manner,” he said.
Mr Chipoka also cautioned Chingola residents against acquiring plots through cadres but always go through legalized procedures.
“A councillor has no right to give plots, only the council is mandated to do that,” he said.
The MP said he will find land for the affected residents and will ensure that they have the right title deeds.
Mr Chipoka also said he will meet with Zambia Civil Aviation to ascertain the boundaries of the land on its titles.
Mr Chipoka emphasized on the need to name and shame the land allocators if justice was to prevail adding that he will not rest until perpetrators are brought to book.
