Mwepu’s goal against Liverpool nominated goal of the month

Zambia national team midfielder Enock Mwepu’s beauty of a goal against Liverpool has been voted as the Brighton and Hove Albion goal of the month for October.

The Computer’s first English Premier League goal won the vote from the fans by a resounding 88% while his strike in the Carabao Cup came in second with 8% of the votes cast with Trossard and Lee getting just 4% and 2% of the votes respectively.

Mwepu, who has been a Liverpool fan since childhood, stole the show on Saturday as he netted a beauty of a goal to cut Liverpool’s lead in half before the break.

The Chipolopolo Boys skipper sent an exquisite cross-shot over into the box, and it just managed to squeeze between the crossbar and the fingertips of Allison into the back of the net, opening his English Premier League goal account.

The Computer is now up for the Brighton fans’ website We are Brighton player of the month accolade.

He has been nominated alongside Tariq Lamptey, Dan Burn, Marc Cucurella, Adam Lallana, and Leandro Trossard.

“Now we know why he is called The Computer. The clever play saw him get in on goal and draw a foul from Ederson when he seemed to be running the ball out of play for the City penalty. A nice glancing header opened his Albion account at Leicester and as for the goal against Liverpool when he caught Alisson completely unawares, it was a stunner- We are Brighton”
