Mwansabombwe Town Council has placed 20 self-tipping refuse bins in various parts of the District.
The bins have since been placed at markets and other public places in selected wards.
Director of Works, Engineer Andrew M’tewa is confident the bins will ease the disposal of litter at designated points thereby keeping the town clean.
Eng M’tewa said the local authority remains committed to ensuring Mwansabombwe District is kept clean and healthy, through such initiatives aimed at promoting a green, clean and healthy Zambia.
He has since implored members of the public to make proper use of the bins and safeguard them against any form of vandalism.
