Mutenda Councillor calls for help to roof the market

Mutenda Ward Councillor Hamalila Himanansa has called on relevant Authorities to come and rescue marketers at Mutenda Market whose roof was brown off by heavy rains.

Mr Himanansa said half of the roof was brown off due to heavy rains two months ago.

He said Marketeers are facing challenges when it raining because there have to move their merchandise.

Mr Himanansa said he engaged the Council but it has been two months without any response.

He said the roof that has remained is a death trap and need to be attending to safe guide the lives of Marketeers who are trying to earn a living.

The Councillor also said the feeder Roads in is ward is in bad state which is a challenge to the farmers who are failing to transport their farming input.

He said due to bad road network the teachers who are coming from town are failing reach hence affecting pupils not learning due to absent of teachers.

“So for pupils in exam classes we made arrangement for them to be in weekly boarding so that there are near the school,” he said.

He also said some roads needs foot bridge with the heavy rains the their will be cut off

The Councillor said that the feeder roads at council level have been on the program for some year now but the grade has been down.
Mr Himanansa has made an appeal to the government to intervene in the soonest possible time.
