Movement for Democratic Change President Felix Mutata says confidence and trust between government and bondholders should be rejuvenated.
Mr Mutati said government should pay the bondholders to recover the confidence from them.
He said the country need to invest in trust and confidence because the out come between the government and the bondholders last week was a sad development.
Mr Mutati said government should minimize the damage to the reputation of the country and ensure that the bondholders and creditors do not walk away from the table of engagement.
He said government should pay the bondholders because it party of the strategy to deal with issues around debt sustainability.
“What is important is that we deal with the current situation to secure the issues of confidence as people who want to invest in the country from outside zambia are holding back,” he said.
