Musenga health post to be upgraded

Government has approved the upgrading and construction of a maternity annex at Musenga Health Post.  

 The constructions of the maternity ward will Carter for all the expecting mothers in Musenga and surrounding wards.

Speaking when he donated 20 blankets, Chingola Constituency Member Of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga said the approval to construct and upgrade the health post is in a bid to improve health services to the people in the area.

Mr Chipoka was saddened by the lack of access to health services 24/7 by the people of Musenga because the health posts closes.

 “It’s unfortunate that in cases of emergencies, residents have opt to stop trucks along the road to help them get to nearby health centers, or use the area councilor’s vehicle, we want this to come to an end that is why we want to upgrade Musenga Health post,” he said.

The MP said the New Dawn Government is keen to see to it that quality health services are delivered to the people.

Mr Chipoka also donated blankets to Kasompe Clinic, Lulamba Health post and Chawama clinic.

And in receiving the donation, Kasompe clinic nurse in-charge Michael Mtonga said the clinic is facing transport challenges when it comes to referral cases.

Mr Mtonga also thanked the area Member of Parliament for the good gesture as the donation will go a long way.

In response the MP called on the area councilor to work with the Mayor in addressing the challenges the people are facing in the ward.
