Chipolopolo and Nkwazi goalkeeper Charles Muntanga was named Nkwazi Football Club Footballer of the Year and immediately got promoted to the rank of Sergeant by Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja.
Muntanga who is expected to take up the Under-23 gloves man spot had a good season between the sticks for Nkwazi Football Club that saw him earn national team call ups in 2018.
Zambia Women National Team defender Lushomo Mweemba won the best woman footballer.
Lushomo had a memorable year that saw her being part of the Copper Queens set up at the Cosafa Women Championship and the Africa Women Champion.
Her wonder strike against Cameroon at the Cosafa Women Championship in Port Elizabeth left a lasting impression on the fans at the tournament.
Kanganja also heaped praise on FAZ Secretary General of Police Adrian Kashala for having played a critical role in organizing sports in the Zambia Police.
The Inspector General said Kashala had made the police command proud with his contribution towards national sports.
Sports personalities were honoured in various categories with splinter Sydney Siame winning the Best Sports Man accolade.
