Mulonga Water takes over Kapisha water scheme

By JOHN SAKALA
Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company Limited (MWSC) has taken over the management of Kapisha Water Supply Scheme in Chingola and pledged to improve service in the area.

The Kapisha Water Supply Scheme was established as a community managed scheme by the Local Authority in partnership with financiers in 2000.

Speaking during the handover of the scheme by Chingola Municipal Council, MWSC Acting Managing Director Reuben Kaira said the company will take over the water supply and sanitation service provision in the area in partnership with the community.

Mr Kaira said that the Kapisha Scheme will benefit from the company’s flagship project the Zambia Water and Sanitation Project (ZWSP) peri-urban component worth €5 million as one of the 21 peri-urban areas.
