Mufulira Residents have appealed to Government to construct the Mufulira-Ndola Road in honour of the late first Republican President Kenneth Kaunda who constructed the Road.
The residents living along Mufulira-Ndola road have wondered why the road which was constructed during Dr Kaunda’s rule has never been rehabilitated.
Dickson Lukwesa One of the residents complained about the bad state of the road, that its needs serious attention before the rain season starts.
Mr Lukwesa said that the deplorable state of the road is the reason why they have been having challenges in transporting farm produce.
“We the residents of Mufurila, have a problem, because the road , Dr Kaunda constructed for us is in bad state and we want the government to look into the issue of the road and get repaired in memory of the late Dr Kaunda,” he said.
Another resident Joseph Mwila said that the road made it possible for most the people coming to Copperbelt because it was a shortcut hence the need to work on it.
And residents said that the good works he did will never be forgotten.
