A 12 year old girl of Mufulira’s Kansuswa’s Township has died after two juvenile boys aged 14 and 15 assaulted her.
Copperbelt Police commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said the incident happened on December 11th 2022 at around 14:00hours
Mr Mweemba however said the victim before her death was admitted to Arthur Davison Hospital in Ndola but unfortunately died on 16th December, 2022.
He said that through postmortem results it was discovered that the girl died as a result of head and chest injuries.
“A postmortem was conducted on December 20th, 2022 on the victim’s body at Kitwe Teaching Hospital and preliminary results indicate that she died as a result of head and chest injuries, sustained after being assaulted by the two juveniles both of new Kansuswa,”he said
Mr Mweemba said the two suspects have been detained in custody, and will appear before court soon.
